The brand new $4.3 million Fire Station 15 recently opened in Eastdale. This project was years in the making, as Old Station 15 was built in the 1960s and was fully demolished in 2023. The new fire station will be able to better accommodate Chattanooga’s growing population.
Cause
The 2024 Chattanooga Gala of Hope for the American Cancer Society is Friday, Oct. 25 at the Hunter Museum of American Art. The gala will feature a concert and yacht cruise, and funds will support the fight against all types of cancer.

Walnut Street Bridge Address: 1 Walnut St. Nearby: Coolidge Park, Maclellan Island, Hunter Museum of American Art
It’s one of the longest pedestrian bridges in the world. The Walnut Street Bridge, built in 1890, connects downtown and North Chattanooga. It’s the state’s oldest non-military highway bridge still in use today. Bonus: Get updated on its upcoming renovation.
Noted as “America’s Most Amazing Mile,” the Incline Railway’s first ride departed in 1887. The incline still operates daily, taking trips from lower St. Elmo to Lookout Mountain.
