Traffic

Claude Ramsey Parkway — formerly Hickory Valley Road — (between Discovery Drive + Highway 58) is closed now through Friday, Nov. 15 for milling and paving. Closures will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on weekdays, weather permitting. (Chattanoogan.com)

Community

In case you missed it, the Main Street Farmers Market will now operate on Wednesday afternoons from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Chestnut and West 20th Streets. The annual shift helps farmers get back to their fields before dark.

Cause

Chattanoogans are invited to attend the Tennessee PanCAN Affiliate’s Purple Light Ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 17 at the Kennedy Center. RSVP to honor those who have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer with a lighting of luminary bags + a reading of loved ones’ names.

This weekend, folks can explore a simulated cave with over 60 ft of tunnels at Ruby Falls. Colorado-based company CaveSim will be onsite Saturday, Nov. 9 + Sunday, Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to take guests through a realistic cave installation and discuss conservation efforts.

The Children’s Hospital of Erlanger is seeking miniature trees to decorate patients’ rooms. If you’d like to donate a tree, you can drop them off on Thursday, Dec. 5 or Friday, Dec. 6 between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the table near the hospital entrance.
