If your organization is interested in helping keep Tennessee’s water clean, check out this funding opportunity. | Photo provided by Chattanooga Tourism Co.
The program is through the American Water Charitable Foundation + will help fund projects that promote clean water, conservation, environmental education, and water-based recreation.
Grants from previous years have helped fund projects like WaterWays’ efforts to address litter + water quality, the creation of a fishing pier at Camp Jordan’s Dickert Memorial Pond, and the implementation of a natural play space and outdoor classroom at East Lake Park.
Grant funds have also been used to head community clean-ups, like clearing litter from Lookout and Black Creeks during last year’s Tennessee River Rescue.
Local organizations interested in applying can do so now through Friday, March 7 + grant decisions will be made by Tuesday, April 15. Pro tip: Read through the description for examples of programs and projects you can submit in your application.
