Today Is

Juneteenth. It is a federal holiday, so expect closures of city offices. Observe the day with the Unity Group of Greater Chattanooga — there will be a screening of “How to Sue the Klan” + the annual downtown parade, which will kickoff at 4 p.m. on Peeples Street.

Coming Soon

A new coffee shop and speakeasy is coming to Market Street. Atmosphere, a 21+ space, will feature two areas — an Amsterdam-style coffee lounge and retail dispensary + the Foundation Room, “a hidden sanctum reserved for true explorers.” Learn more ahead of its opening on Saturday, June 28.

The Tivoli Theater Foundation’s Bobby Stone Film Series will return on Saturday, June 21 for its summer season. With 18 screenings happening through the end of August, you’ll be able to see films all set in the South — ending with Tyler Perry’s “The Six Triple Eight,” which was filmed here.
