Tyler Perry Studios’ new film shows love to Chattanooga

Tyler Perry Studios’ upcoming movie “Six Triple Eight” will feature props bought from Chattanooga antique stores.

We have to give props to Tyler Perry Studios for coming into town recently and showing love to our local businesses.

Most folks saw the film crew set up on Market Street to film its upcoming movie “Six Triple Eight” inside the Chattanooga Choo Choo hotel.

The film is based on World War II’s only all-Black, all-woman unit — the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion — and will showcase props from our very own Dirty Jane’s Antiques + The Refindery.

Dirty Jane’s said they helped put together a 1940s English tearoom and sold the studio linens, flower pots, period cups + saucers, plates, and glassware — King’s Crown appeared to be the favorite.

The studio also spent three days shopping at The Refindery, which sold them linens, baskets, art, glassware, and even a table that they helped paint — twice until they got the right color. Bonus: the flowers were arranged by Fox & Fern Style.

Want to see for yourself? The film is set to release early in 2024 on Netflix.
