There’s a new chief in town. Mayor Tim Kelly announced Terry Knowles has been named as chief of the Chattanooga Fire Department. Knowles first joined the department in 2005, and before this promotion he had been serving as the assistant chief of special operations since 2022.

The $70 million, 61-unit Southside Gardens residential community is preparing to start construction in the next few months in downtown Chattanooga.
