A new addition has leaped into Tennessee Aquarium’s Lemur Forest. Kintana, a 2-year-old female red-collared brown lemur, can now be seen getting acclimated to her new home after arriving from the Dallas Zoo.
Kintana has now been introduced to John, the sole male red-collared brown lemur. The two seem to be getting along as John becomes familiar with Kintana’s adventurous and playful nature.
In addition to trying to spot Kintana at the Lemur Forest, guests can be on the lookout for other changes at the Tennessee Aquarium. Recently, the giant Pacific octopus moved to the Island Life gallery and a Gentoo Penguin chick hatched.

🚑 Flexible healthcare career paths in a high-demand field
All EMS programs at ChattState set students up for long-term success, including valuable experience for further healthcare education. Certificate and degree tracks include:
$300,000. That’s what students at Hardy Elementary School are getting to help design a park for the East Chattanooga community. This fall, students will learn design principles, how to budget, and take feedback from the community. Construction is expected to start next spring or early summer. (News Channel 9)
Plan Ahead
Sugar or salt? Your help is needed to determine the best margarita in Chattanooga. The Chattanooga Margarita Festival is happening on Saturday, Aug. 9 at the First Horizon Pavilion. Attendees can try margaritas from some of Chattanooga’s best restaurants and vote for their favorite. General admission tickets are $54.
Open
The boardwalk on the South Chickamauga Creek Greenway is back open between Caine Lane and the Youngstown Road trailhead. The Chattanooga Parks Department was able to quickly make the needed repairs after a tree fell on the trail earlier this month, just in time for you to hit the trails.
Real Estate
Get ready for new neighbors, Chattanooga is growing. The area ranked No. 39 on Construction Coverage’s list of mid-sized metro areas building the most homes. The study determined the region is adding 13.7 new housing units for every 1,000 existing homes.
Biz
In 1998, the most common job in Tennessee was a retail salesperson, according to a recent study. Nowadays, the most common job is a freight mover. That’s what we call taking care of business. (Visual Capitalist)
Drink
If you’re ready for a pumpkin spice latte, you’ll likely be waiting a few more weeks. The seasonal drink isn’t expected to return to Starbucks until late August, based on historic data. If you need something to sip on until then, we recommend exploring our local coffee shops. (USA TODAY)
Try This
According to a sommelier, these are the best wines to get from Trader Joe’s this summer — all of which are $20 or less. Pair a bottle with some cheese from local business Bleu Fox Cheese Shop, and you’ve got yourself a perfect summer picnic. (Business Insider)
Travel
Do you know someone who puts the “bomb” in “bombshell?” While the country is still coming down from its collective “Love Island USA” hysteria, the producers are already looking for Season 8 applicants. If you’d like to see Fiji without the drama, the Chattanooga Airport is a good place to start.
Mansion Monday
This midcentury modern home in North Chattanooga has five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a wrap-around deck, and plenty of windows giving natural light. Even with all of these features, the house doesn’t have a seven-figure list price — perhaps that’s why Zillow Gone Wild took notice.
