Hours, admission + parking
Monday-Friday at 4 p.m., Saturdays at 10 a.m., and Sunday at 12 p.m.
Tickets are $12 online in advance and $15 after the fair opens, $6 for children ages 6-12, and free for children ages five and under.
Free parking is available on and off-site (with a shuttle service) — preferred parking is $10.

New logo, who dis? Rock City unveiled its first visual rebrand in 25 years, putting its gnomes front and center. With a fresh logo and updated signage, the mountaintop attraction is distinguishing itself from its parent company Rock City Enterprises. Don’t worry — those iconic “See Rock City” birdhouses and barns aren’t going anywhere.

Chattanooga has a rich history, and you can help preserve it. Join Preserve Chattanooga’s first-ever Preservation Town Hall on Thursday, Aug. 21, 6-7 p.m. at Second Presbyterian Church. You can hear from local experts, share your voice, and learn how to get involved in shaping the city’s preservation future.

Take a peek behind the law enforcement curtain. The Chattanooga Police Department is accepting applications for its free, nine-week Community Police Academy through Friday, Aug. 29. Classes begin Thursday, Sept. 11, and include hands-on activities, demonstrations, and open conversations with officers.
Pets
Spay and neuter surgeries are on pause at McKamey Animal Center due to overcrowding. The center is currently housing nearly twice the number of animals it was designed for, according to its director. Nearby low-cost clinics include ChattaNeuter and the Humane Educational Society. (Times Free Press)

The UTC women’s soccer team is in good hands, with two former Mocs back on the sidelines. Fresh grad Kelly Tuerff returned as a graduate assistant, while Katie Emig Wright joined as assistant coach and goalkeeper specialist. Catch the Mocs in action Thursday, Aug. 14, against Winthrop.
History
Two pieces of history sail into Chattanooga this fall. Niña and Pinta replica ships will be docked at Ross’s Landing Friday, Oct. 31-Monday, Nov. 24. You can tour these floating museums by yourself or with a group. Tickets range from $6 to $10 and can be purchased on site. (The Pulse)
