How to help Chattanooga flood victims

It’s been one week since Chattanooga experienced its second-highest rainfall on record. The floodwaters have receded — but the damage remains.

In times like these, it can be hard to know how to help. Here are a few ways to support some of those most affected:

  • An elderly woman’s home and car were severely damaged after a nearby creek overflowed. Her daughter, Emily Roe Lewis, is raising funds to help cover repairs.
  • Ivy Academy (8520 Dayton Pike) is collecting emergency supplies Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Boneyard Bar and Oddstory Brewing Co. Central are accepting donations of essentials, nonperishable food, clothing, and bedding during regular business hours through Thursday, Aug. 28.
