Work days just got a lot more fun

It’s no secret that you work hard — especially Monday through Friday. Give yourself a break from your usual after-work routine with these weekly events.

Monday

If Monday has you singing the blues, you might as well go to Monday Night Blues Jam at Gate 11 Distillery at 7:30 p.m. Host Jimmy G. will take the stage along with other local musicians. If you’d rather test your knowledge, head to the North Shore for Trivia Night at Stevarinos Italian Eatery & Pub at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday

Save your appetite for all-you-can-eat wings at Doc Holidays Bar & Grill. It costs ~$16 and they have a lot of different sauces you can choose from. Editor Sarah here: My friends and I like to channel our inner Joey Chestnut and have a contest to see who can eat the most wings. Spoiler alert: I never win. If you’d rather do the opposite of eat wings, join Oddstory Brewing Co.'s run club at 6 p.m.
We didn't forget the other days

The International Bluegrass Music Association has released the schedule for the IBMA Bluegrass Ramble, happening Tuesday, Sept. 16 though Thursday, Sept. 18 at several Chattanooga venues. The event will introduce bluegrass lovers to new and emerging talent. Tickets are $30 for a single-day pass and $65 for all three days.

It’s your last week to watch the Lookouts play at AT&T Field before they move to their new stadium in 2026. Tonight is Dogs at the Diamond, tomorrow is Thirsty Thursday, Friday is the Joey Votto jersey giveaway, Saturday is Bluegrass Night, and on Sunday, the team is giving away bottles of dirt from the field.

Plan Ahead

I’m predicting lots of orange at the Chattanooga Market this Sunday, Sept. 7. Shoppers are encouraged to wear their favorite team colors for Team Spirit Day. Vendors are also getting in on the fun with themed art and snacks.

Festival

The first-ever Chattanooga Jazz Fest is coming to the Choo Choo on Sunday, Oct. 26, with free live jazz, blues, and funk from local artists. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and there will be an “Open Jam” afterparty at Wanderlinger Brewing Co. (The Pulse)

Edu

Peyton Manning is giving back to his alma mater once again — this time with a $4 million gift to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The donation creates two endowments honoring his mentors and will help support students, faculty research, and new ideas in communication and media. (News Channel 9)

Two dogs dressed in festive costumes sit on a barrel. The left dog wears a green outfit; the right dog wears brown. Vibrant mural background. Joyful vibe.
Now that we’ve got your attention with two adorable dogs in costumes, we can tell you we’re less than three weeks away from what Oddstory Brewing Co. calls “the best day of the year.”

Oddtoberfest will be on Saturday, Sept. 20 and will feature live music from a polka band, a costume contest, and a stein-holding competition. Entry is $10 at the door, and they’ll have plenty of festive merch if you’re looking to take home a souvenir.
