Ox2 Buns & Noodles, 2288 Gunbarrel Rd. | Chinese cuisine
From steamed soup dumplings to pork buns and hand-pulled noodles, this restaurant’s menu is packed with mouth-watering options.
Thai Smile, 321 Market St. | Thai cuisine
This downtown restaurant moved a couple of blocks down the road, but still serves the same flavorful dishes — spicy curries, pad Thai, noodles, and more.
Bela Lisboa, 417 Frazier Ave. | Mediterranean cuisine
After a fire forced it to close last fall, this North Shore restaurant is back open with new Mediterranean dishes, a full bar + an expanded wine list.

Known for its holiday meats and sides, Honey Baked Ham also serves sandwiches and fast-casual meals.
Camila, 309 E Main St. | European bistro | Projected opening: October
This European bistro is set to open in the old location of Slick’s Burgers.
Hawaiian Bros Island Grill, 5118 Hixson Pike | Hawaiian comfort food | Projected opening: Saturday, Sept. 27
This fast-casual spot will serve plate lunches, Dole soft serve, and Spam musubi.

A new affordable housing PILOT program in Chattanooga just got its first taker. A developer plans to build 42 affordable apartments on the Northshore as part of a larger project. If approved, the city will offer a tax break in exchange for keeping those units affordable for at least 15 years. (Local 3 News)
Traffic
Downtown road closures for the IBMA World of Bluegrass® festival are underway and run through Monday, Sept. 22. Closures will happen in phases and affect major streets near Market, Georgia Avenue, and MLK Boulevard. Expect traffic delays, limited parking, and detours.
Festival
This weekend, you can explore and celebrate cultures from all over the world without ever leaving Chattanooga. Culture Fest will be happening at the Chattanooga Market this Sunday, Sept. 21. You can eat Mexican, Spanish, Greek, Chinese, and Thai food and watch traditional dances from different cultures.
Theater
To be or not to be… at a free Shakespeare in the Park event? “Twelfth Night” hits Greenway Farm Park at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays in October. Pro tip: Bring a chair or blanket to sit on — and if you miss there, you can catch shows at Barking Legs Theater or Crabtree Farms. (The Pulse)

Chattanooga Whiskey’s newest experimental release is here, and it’s a tribute to the city’s cola roots. Batch 045: Kola Infused blends high malt bourbon with classic cola flavors for a nostalgic twist. Batch 045 will hit shelves today and set you back $49.99 a bottle.

Let’s get knotty, Chattanooga. Scenic Stitches Spectacle is taking over Coolidge Park on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 1 to 5 p.m. This free, family-friendly event features giant fiber arts activities, yarn bombing, artist demos, performers, and more than 20 vendors.
