Good news for downtown: Parking at the 615 Walnut St. Garage is now free after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends. The Hamilton County Commission unanimously approved the change this week. If you’re looking for it, the garage has entrances on Walnut and Cherry streets. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)

Hamilton County commissioners voted to redirect $195,000 from opioid settlement funds to local food banks. Most of the money will go to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, with the remainder distributed among smaller food banks and pantries. (Local 3 News)

Things could get wild downtown at Patten Square tomorrow night for the Wylde Christmas Market, running from 6 to 10 p.m. The free event takes inspiration from European winter markets, with Polish + German food and a “Wild Hunt” theatrical performance at 7 p.m. (The Pulse)

Nearly 400 softball teams from across the country are heading to Chattanooga this weekend for the Scenic City Fall Softball Tournament. Games will be played at Camp Jordan, Warner Park, and other fields across the area, with an estimated $6 million boost to the local economy. (The Pulse)

ArtsBuild named Frances McDonald and John Beder as recipients of the 2025 Ruth Holmberg Arts Leadership Award, honoring their creative impact on Chattanooga.
