Here are three films with ties to Chattanooga or the region.

“Your Last Best” | Saturday matinee | 1 p.m. | 18 minutes | Discover how a climbing gym is transforming lives in the heart of Memphis.
“Shut Up Legs, We Skiing Bama!” | Saturday evening | 7 p.m. | 12 minutes | Follow three friends on a bike trip from Chattanooga to witness the long-awaited reopening of Alabama’s Cloudmont Ski Resort.

CARTA is refreshing its free shuttle, which serves downtown, North Shore, and St. Elmo, and wants to hear from riders. A short online survey and interactive map are open now through Sunday, Jan. 18 to help shape the route. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)
Outdoors
Brace yourselves, Blue Hole lovers. The popular swim spot will be closed for a year for a construction project that’s expected to improve the entrance and parking and add a restroom and a pier for river viewing. Before you get too bummed out, check out these other swimming holes. (WDEF)
Opening
BJ’s Wholesale Club near Northgate Mall is planning to open Friday, Jan. 30, with deals on one-year memberships through Thursday, Jan. 29. If you’re not familiar, BJ’s is a membership-based warehouse store where shoppers can get bulk groceries, everyday essentials, and discounted gas.
Concert
Chattanooga’s own Sweet Georgia Sound is playing a free concert this Friday, Jan. 16 from 7 to 8 p.m. at the North River Civic Center in Hixson. Expect big band vibes from the 20-member ensemble that’s been playing local stages since 1994.
State
Do you know the hand signals cyclists use? A new Tennessee law requires new drivers to learn them for left turns, right turns, and stopping, but they’re helpful to know even if you’ve been driving for years. Take a quick look. (WDEF)
History
Remember Circuit City? The Chattanooga Times Free Press is taking a walk down memory lane. We once had three locations — in Hixson, Brainerd, and near Hamilton Place Mall — before the chain closed nearly 17 years ago. Looking for electronics now? Check out locally-owned Electronic Express on Highway 153. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)

Over the weekend, I headed back to my alma mater to cheer on the UTC men’s basketball team as they took on Samford. It was exciting to be back at McKenzie Arena, and even more exciting when the Mocs pulled off an 88-79 win. If you’d like to show them some love, their next home game is Wednesday, Jan. 21 against ETSU.
These seats were perfect for eavesdropping on the huddle.
