A stone’s throw away from Coolidge

Aerial view of a suburban neighborhood with elegant homes, tree-lined streets, and a distant city skyline. A bridge spans a river, set against rolling hills and a cloudy sky.

Coolidge Park was recently named the top public space Tennesseans want to live near, according to a survey from Calgary Homes. So naturally, we did some digging to find which homes currently on the market are closest to the North Shore favorite. Here are the three closest:

405 Forest Ave.

Distance from Coolidge Park: 0.8 miles
Price: $2.6 million
Details: 5 BD, 5 BA, 5,275 sqft
Fun fact: This home has an elevator, heated floors, and bidet toilets in several bathrooms.
A two-story white brick house with dark shutters and a black front door, flanked by neatly trimmed bushes. The manicured lawn gives a welcoming, elegant look.

Less than a mile from Coolidge Park, this Forest Avenue home seems to have it all.

306 Oliver St.

Distance from Coolidge Park: 0.9 miles
Price: $1.9 million

Charming single-story house with a screened porch, gray brick exterior, and gable roof. A path leads to the front entrance, surrounded by green lawn and shrubs.

This McFarland Avenue home predates Coolidge Park by nearly 80 years.

Mansion Monday

A taste of “Wuthering Heights” awaits on a rain-swept private island for sale in the UK. Once owned by the royal family, it doesn’t even have electricity. That won’t be a problem at this Chattanooga home on the Tennessee-Georgia line, complete with Southern charm and a cozy fireplace. (The Times)

Cause

Outdoors

Got a green thumb? The Old Farmer’s Almanac released its 2026 Last Frost Date Map, and it suggests Chattanooga gardeners may want to plant a little earlier than usual this year. Pro tip: Pick up some plants from Reflection Riding’s Native Plant Nursery when it opens next month.

The Chattanooga Police Department welcomed 32 new officers last week, marking its largest academy class in more than a decade. Fourteen of the recruits are from Hamilton County, and one even made the move from Alaska. The new officers will now begin 16 weeks of field training.

Bummer — the Winter Olympics are officially over. The good news? We can start looking ahead to the Games’ return to US soil at Los Angeles 2028. You’ve got until Wednesday, March 18 to register for tickets, and a little longer to brace yourself for the lines at the Chattanooga Airport.

The Wrap

There are 13 days until the clocks go forward for daylight saving time. That means a few things: spring is on its way, the sun is setting later, and summer will be here before we know it. A picnic awaits — plan out which local park you’d like to frequent for the occasion.
