Local organizations and community members can pay tribute to those lost in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks this weekend.

This Sunday marks the 21st anniversary of the terrorist attacks that took place on Sept. 11, 2001. Here are some local events you can attend to honor + remember the fallen from that day.

Patriots Day Luncheon | Sat., Sept. 10 | 12:30-2 p.m. | Chattanooga Elks Lodge, 1067 Graysville Rd. | Free | This luncheon is for police, fire, EMS, and 911 Communication employees to honor them for their service.

2022 Chattanooga 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb & 3.43 Mile Walk | Sun., Sept. 11 | 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. | AT&T Field | $45 | Firefighters + members of the community can participate — all proceeds from the event will benefit local first responders.

Flag Waving 9/11 Remembrance | Sun., Sept. 11 | 8:46-10:03 a.m. | Any location | Free | Wreaths Across America has made a national call to stand out and wave flags to remember the anniversary of 9/11.
