The Hamilton County Fair is back with kettle corn, cotton candy and pig racing

The quintessential fall fair for the Chattanooga area returns to Chester Frost Park. The Hamilton County Fair is Sept. 29 and 30. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The fair is held on Dallas Island in Chester Frost Park, a 280-acre lakefront about 15 miles from downtown. All guests are shuttled to the park via bus. Admission is free, but a $6 fee is required to ride the shuttle. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome aboard the transportation. Guests can park at Northgate Mall or Middle Valley Recreation Center to access the shuttle. All vehicles entering Chester Frost Park must display a parking pass. Among the many highlights each year, guests can enjoy a variety of concessions including kettle corn, chicken ‘n dumplings, smoked turkey legs, funnel cakes, cotton candy, fried ice cream and, of course, hot dogs. Pig racing and soccer-playing dogs are among the spectator events at Dallas Island stage. A variety of dancing, karate exhibition and sideshow performers will occupy the Coca-Cola stage throughout the weekend. Guests can enjoy listening to music at the Pickin’ Porch, try out Insane Pinball, view antique vehicles, touch exotic animals at a petting zoo, including cattle, sheep, rabbits, swine, chickens, ducks and ferrets.
