Nightfall Concert Series: Yarn | Fri., Aug. 16 | 7 p.m. | Miller Park, 850 Market St. | Free | Josh Driver Band will be the opening performance at this event.

Clear the shelters adoption event | Sat., Aug. 17 | 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. | McKamey Animal Center, 4500 N. Access Road | Cats and kittens will be $5 and dog adoptions will be $25 (excluding Ambassadors and puppies.) The goal of the event is to find homes for all adoptable animals. The Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga will host a similar event from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

50th Anniversary Tribute to Woodstock | 8 p.m. | Songbirds South, 35 Station St. | $12-$15| Participating bands include The Pool, Oweda, Jess Goggans Band, Paul Childers Band, plus special guests. The event will also feature a costume contest, face painting, drink specials, catered food, and more.

SILENT PARTY CHATTANOOGA | Sat., Aug. 17 | 8 p.m.-midnight | Cooper’s Alley, 10 East 7th St. | $15-$25| Three DJ’s will spin tunes all night in your headphones. It’s silent for everybody else but you and your friends. Proceeds benefit scholarships for underprivileged youth to attend summer camps.

Bobby Stone Film Series: Do the Right Thing | 2 p.m. & 6 p.m. | Tivoli Theatre, 709 Broad St. | $10-$12| “Do the Right Thing” is a 1989 American comedy-drama film produced, written, and directed by Spike Lee. “The story follows a Brooklyn neighborhood’s simmering racial tension, which culminates in tragedy on a hot summer day.”
