What to expect at this year’s Chattanooga Oktoberfest

Chattanooga Oktoberfest returns for its 21st year on Sat., Oct. 8 + Sun., Oct. 9 with fun-filled traditions and some new additions to the festival lineup. Here’s what you can expect during one of the city’s most anticipated fall festivals.

New to this year

  • A “locals-only” themed biergarten, featuring a full setup from several local breweries with a wider selection of beers + an opportunity for enthusiasts to meet and chat with the brewers.
  • Get ready to dance — you can take polka lessons at this year’s market.

Traditions

  • The Wurstbrats Oompah Band (expect plenty of chicken dancing for the whole family)
  • Bavarian cuisine + an expansive selection of local and seasonal beers (nearly 100 at that)
  • Stein hoisting contests, brat toss, and beer stein races
  • Mr./Ms. Chattanooga Oktoberfest contest — come dressed to win

Festival details

  • Admission is free and open to all
  • Festival hours are Sat., Oct. 8 from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. + Sun., Oct. 9 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
  • All event sales are card only
  • German costume is highly recommended
  • No pets
