As the city continues to grow, many new food options are becoming available, but we wanted to know what else Chattanooga needs.

We asked our readers, “What types of cuisine is Nooga lacking?” and we got more than 100 responses.

The top responses were more vegetarian/vegan options and more Asian-style foods, like

Korean barbecue, Chinese and Thai.

More diverse vegan and vegetarian options! — Kellie M. (This was the most liked comment on our NOOGAtoday Facebook page. 👍)

I would patronize weekly a place where I could get a 100% vegan cheeseburger, order of fries, and a soft drink through a drive thru. Make this happen and not only will you get my money, but the money of every other vegan (and non-vegans too) in the area. — Lonnie H.

Korean BBQ! and more Indian like Sitar in more accessible areas. — Cindy R.

Early morning and late night vegan ANYTHNG. It is diffficult to get 100% plant-based meal (even Chinese) past 10pm and morning options are thin, too. PLEASE — Breanna S.

Living in Ooltewah, I long for anything that ISN’T fast food. That said, Korean barbecue, any type of Asian cuisine that isn’t a buffet or Panda Express type of establishment, Greek, Ethiopian, Middle Eastern or basically any good ethnic cuisine. I think farm to table would do well too. — Mike E.

Great Jewish deli. You can’t get authentic corned beef, pastrami etc. Not to mention a yummy black and white!! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜— Missie M.

Chinese. Not the syrup-heavy American style, but real Chinese. @GrackleOak

We need a restaurant with real gluten free options - that are actually gluten free! So many claim they are gluten free, but most are not at all. @benf02

I crave pho at least 3 times a week & don’t always want to drive to Chopstix on Lee Hwy! I would love another option!! — Rachel E.

Hawaiian cuisine. Haitian cuisine. Indian food. An authentic italian place to eat. A place with loads of veggies! Almost everywhere you go your loaded with carbs and starches and fried food with a tiny “sides” section at the bottom and you can usually only get green beans, carrots, or broccoli. — Michelle S.

Sweet Tomatoes. It’s a chain from Florida that has the best salad bar ever. It only serves salad and soup. —Gale J.

A real German restaurant! Or any type of good Asian food not buffet style. — Corinna H.
