Morning, y’all! Chloé here, and while your routines have likely been different lately, we thought we’d try to provide some comfort and entertainment by directing you to cool, local Instagram accounts that we hope are more meaningful than the endless, random scroll.
Trista and I (along with our two awesome interns, Brianna + Justin) picked some of our favorite accounts, and we sought ideas from local influencers for this list. We also aimed to highlight ones that don’t always get a ton of attention.
My current favorite, local Instagram account is @centerformindfulliving. It’s an amazing resource and provides a reminder for me to practice meditation and mindfulness. Bonus: They have online classes going on now.
And Trista can’t get enough of @yourlocalseitanist, who she called her queen. Check out that account to see how local business owner Linley Armer has been bringing the vegan goodness + giving back to the community.

○ @ashleyhamiltonart: Her cool, abstract style is immediately recognizable, and she’s been letting out anxiety during coronavirus quarantine on the canvas. Kudos to anyone making art from anxiety.
○ Creative Revolver: Tired of “House Hunters?” Check out this account with photos + videos of Chattanooga homes, apartments, and businesses.
○ Jaime Barks: She’s living out her dream of being a full-time artist and she captures the area’s natural beauty with bold colors. She also lets you come behind the scenes and see her process.
○ @KathleenGreesonPhoto: After a career in photojournalism, Kathleen has been putting her talents to work through her own business. She captures poignant moments, gorgeous glimpses of nature and occasionally her fam makes a cameo.
○ @rivercitystreetpoet: This poet takes a typewriter around town, meeting new people and writing. We couldn’t love it more.
○ @ty.inthesky: He captures amazing photos + he has a drone to give us views we don’t usually get to see.
Entertainment
○ Bbymutha: This artist will enchant you with new music and her distinctive style.
○ Irockfloyd: This local music producer shares 1-minute beats and works with some cool local musicians, like Kindora.
○ @nicklutsko: He has an account you just have to see to appreciate. He keeps followers updated on his projects, including a recent song for Netflix.
○ @Summerregs: This Chattanooga music producer has worked on a ton of cool projects from a recent Halloween music video to a collaboration with @thepopupproject that had local children dancing down MLK Boulevard. ○ Swayyvo: Hear new music + follow the life of this artist and his adorable family
Food
○ Chattavore: If you’re wanting comfort food, this account definitely has it. Plus, she posts a link to the recipe for each meal in the caption.
○ @eatdrinkfrolic: You may know Shawanda as co-founder of The Chattery but DYK she’s also a food writer and shares pics + recipes of so much deliciousness?
○ JusteatsTN: This account, which highlights restaurants owned by people of color, will remind you of your favorite drool-worthy dishes here in Chattanooga, but will also give you ideas for your next foodie day-trip to Knoxville, Nashville or Memphis.
Nature + adventures
○ @brittany.adele: Her Instagram will have you wide-eyed with stunning pictures of waterfalls, cliffsides + other outdoor adventures.
○ @hidden.in.plain.view: View this traveling photographer’s posts featuring nature, the city + life in the Southeast

Health + Fitness
○ Get Built Chattanooga Crossfit: This CrossFit account has started posting at-home workouts, so you can get active too (or just watch other people do it while you sit on the couch … we won’t judge).
○ Kyle House Fitness: Owners of Kyle House Fitness Kyle + Kyle are here to impress with their insanely strong + flexible photos.
○ @ladybrd: Climber Katherine Vanderford will wow you with her strength + agility on her Instagram, which features a lot of familiar Chattanooga spots.
Home Decor + lifestyle
○ Bailey Walton Designs: These beautiful, modern home decor pics will have you rearranging your living room in no time.
○ Chattanooga Style: In her own words, this account is “A curated guide to people & creations I love from my hometown, the Scenic City. The best of fashion, art, design, & culture that set our town apart.”
○ Hertle Designs: A mother-daughter interior design team with fun before, after, and progress pictures of different rooms.
Get inspired + learn
○ @shelleybprevost: Entrepreneur + psychologist Shelley Prevost is starting discussions, asking questions and working on solutions many professionals will be able to relate to. Check it out and learn how to connect your business role + soul.
