Celebrate Earth Week in Chattanooga

Learn how you can join fellow Chattanoogans in celebrating Earth Week from Saturday, April 19 through Saturday, April 26.

NOOGAtoday | Chattanooga

Whether you’re planting a tree or riding your bike through the park, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Earth Week locally.

Next week, community members and organizations from across the Scenic City will come together to celebrate Earth Week — a week of festivities dedicated to nature, community + sustainability.

The city’s events this year are inspired by the Chattanooga National City Park movement, featuring over 50 activities across town that work toward the movement’s efforts to make the Scenic City greener, wilder, and healthier.

Folks can see the full calendar of events taking place Saturday, April 19 through Saturday, April 26 online. Here are a few events we recommend checking out.

Zero Waste Festival | Saturday, April 19 | 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
Join Sunrise Chattanooga at Stoveworks for the annual festival that features an upcycled fashion show, educational workshops, live music, a clothing swap, and more zero-waste fun.

Invasive plant removal + mulching | Tuesday, April 22 | 1-3 p.m.
Sign up to join Outdoor Chattanooga and volunteer in Renaissance Park — bring tools and gloves if you have them.

Skate & Swap | Friday, April 25 | 7-10 p.m.
Bring your old gear to the Chatt Town Skate Park to swap with other enthusiasts + enjoy music spun by a DJ while you skate. Dazey Skate Co. will have rentals available while supplies last.

Bonus: There’s still time to join the celebration and add your own event on the Chattanooga National Park City website.
