Dolly Days: Celebrate Dolly Parton’s birthday in Chattanooga

We’re celebrating “9 to 5" for a full week as Signal Centers partners with local businesses to honor this Tennessee legend’s birthday.

The Dolly Days are far from over, they haven’t even begun. Local nonprofit Signal Centers — who serves as the community partner for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library — is celebrating the Tennessee singer’s birthday with a week-long celebration.

Beginning Monday, Jan. 13 through Sunday, Jan. 19, families can download the official Dolly Days passport and travel around to collect stamps + the chance to win an iPad.

All you have to do is participate in at least four of the activities:

  • Grab a Cup of Ambitionwe prefer ours with two scoops — at Clumpie’s Ice Cream Co.'s Southside (Jan. 13-19) or NorthShore (Jan. 16-19) stores.
  • Head to the Chattanooga Public Library’s Dolly Days celebrations at all branches.
  • Dine at Texas Roadhouse (Hixson or Hamilton Place locations) on Tuesday, Jan. 14.
  • Sit in for the Soddy Daisy Community Library’s storytimes on Wednesday, Jan. 15 (at SDCL) or Sunday, Jan. 19 (at Lickin’ Good Donuts).
  • Register for the Imagination Library — required stamp for the prize.
  • Attend the UTC vs. Mercer women’s basketball game on Saturday, Jan. 18.

Once you complete your passport, you can drop it off at any of the participating locations — filling out all destinations gets you an extra entry.

Bonus: There’s even more ways to celebrate the singer throughout the Scenic City.

  • Creative Discovery Museum’s Dolly Day on Saturday, Jan. 11
  • The Boneyard’s adult Dolly Parton karaoke night on Wednesday, Jan. 15
  • CARTA will debut a Dolly-wrapped bus with a small Imagination Library inside for passengers
