Introducing DigsDigest: A new NOOGAtoday series where we profile people in search of the perfect #digs.

Although many people move in the summer months, there are plenty of reasons for moving in the winter, and if you have a choice, moving in the off-season could save you money.

There’s that saying that moving is one of the most stressful life events, so we thought we’d play “House Hunters,” and offer some help.

Yeah. Moving is stressful. | Gif by Giphy

Here’s how it works: we’ll tell you a little bit about someone searching for new #digs in Chattanooga. Then, we’ll show you three real options that are currently on the market.

Finally – unlike on “House Hunters” – we’ll let you pick which home (or apartment, office space, food trailer, etc.) they should choose. Beats yelling at the TV when a couple picks the “wrong” place, amirite?

Chloé here, and for this first installment, I’m basing the criteria for this home on a couple who I’d love to see move to the Scenic City. (Ahem. It’s my sister + brother-in-law. No pressure, y’all, but bring my nephew here ASAP. Look, I already found you some houses.)

So, here we go.

This one has plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms so when grandma comes to play, she doesn’t have to stay at an Airbnb. (Wait, is that good or bad? JKJK.) There’s a patio + covered porch, laundry room, walk-in closet, garage and it’s a 7-minute drive from the city center.

Pros: It’s got more space and amenities than needed

This is downtown Chattanooga living if we ever saw it. Step out the door and you’re in the middle of the city center, near Miller Plaza and Park. There are two parking spots and it’s a secured building.

Pros: The walkability
Cons: Must rely on community greenspace, as opposed to a personal yard

You could walk to the aquarium and Coolidge Park from this Market Street condo. And there’s access to a roof with great city views.

Pros: More affordable price point
Cons: The current status is “contingent,” which means it may be sold to someone else already, as long as they meet requirements. But it’s one to watch.
