Happy Moon River weekend, friends. Chloé here + you bet I have tickets to this weekend’s music fest.

I’m excited and will be bringing you live updates on our Instagram page, so give us a follow + tag us in all your pictures and videos so I can reshare.

The sold-out festival, which musicians Drew and Ellie Holcomb founded, relocated from Memphis to Chattanooga in 2018. Last year we got The Avett Brothers, I’m With Her, Mavis Staples, The Head and the Heart and many others in the lineup.

This year, we’re ready for Jason Isbell, Josh Ritter, Brandi Carlile, Lissie, MoonTaxi and the list goes on.

If you don’t have tickets, check out our Must-Do section of the newsletter for all other fun stuff happening this weekend. There’s also a fun + free party to support North Shore businesses. Read more about that below.

Is there anything better than good music in Coolidge Park? | NOOGAtoday

🌕 Wristband/ticket info

    • I got my wristband in the mail but you can also pick yours up at the box office at the venue either Saturday or Sunday starting at 10 a.m.
    • Wristband registration is required for all weekend pass attendees. Through registration, you also have the option to sign up for cashless payment. ProTip: Even if you’re going the cashless route, bring some cash anyway. When the system went down at Riverbend, I was close to panic because I had no cash and needed water
    • Although the festival sold out quickly, there are plenty of people now looking to sell their tickets online through the festival’s ticket exchange, operated by Ticketmaster. What I’m saying is you can probably still go if you really want to.

🌕 What to bring (and not bring)

  • Moon River Festival permits sunblock, blankets/sheets/towels, point + shoot cameras, small bags, backpacks with two pockets (one large + one small), empty water bottles, strollers, one sealed bottle of water + selfie sticks no longer than 40 inches in length made of light material.
  • Alcohol, food or drinks, illegal substances, coolers, lawn chairs, glitter or confetti, pets, recording devices, glass containers + metal aerosol cans are not permitted. Leave the glitter + drugs at home, y’all.

🌕 Transportation details

  • Parking is not allowed on the north side of the river surrounding Coolidge Park for Moon River Festival
  • River Street from Tremont Street to SunTrust Bank will be closed from 3 a.m. on Sept. 7 until 11 p.m. on Sept. 8.
  • Click here to view available parking downtown during the festival. You can use the Walnut Street Bridge to get from your cars to the festival.
  • There will be a complimentary bike valet for festival patrons cycling to and from the concert, available near Outdoor Chattanooga and the Walnut Street Bridge off River Street.
  • The official rideshare drop off point is 405 River St., so go there if you’re going to take an Uber or Lyft + DYK that ChattyWagon offers free rides from Hill City to the Southside and in between. Download the app to get started.

🌕 North Chatt New Moon Bash

Whether you’ve got tickets to the show or are just going to be in the area — I suggest shopping and partying local with the North Chatt New Moon Bash.

The North Shore Merchants Collective, aka local businesses, have put together what looks like a fun, family-friendly Friday.

There will be kid-friendly events from 3-7 p.m. Kids can try cool toys from Adventure Sports Innovation. And by “toys” I mean, electric unicycles + virtual reality simulators.

Local restaurants will be providing food + drink samples and other businesses will be offering discounts. Don’t let this show mean slow business for our local stores.

ProTips: If you go, you could win tickets to next year’s Moon River Festival, and there’s an after-party at Stone Cup.

Here are the rest of the details:

📍Sushi Nabe parking lot/River Street/Coolidge park area
⏰ 3-11 p.m.
🎵Spinster, Luke Simmons and the Love Struck, Emerald Butler, Mountain Cove Bluegrass, Strung Like a Horse
