If you had the power to instantly finish a major local infrastructure or development project, which project would you choose?

We’ll make it a bit easier by giving a few suggestions:
When you have your answer, let us know via the question below and we may share it in an upcoming article.

As for the two of us? City Editor Brianna would probably choose to see the results of the Reimagining Broad Street plan, and City Editor Kristen would love for Chattanooga’s first living building to be finished in the blink of an eye.

If you could wave a magic wand and immediately finish any local development or infrastructure project, which would it be and why?

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, we’ve got love on the brain.

To usher in the month of love, we want to hear the best pickup lines in the city. The pickup line must include the name of our beloved city, something that our city is known for, or a local landmark. It can be so sweet that it almost gives us a cavity.

We’ll use these pickup lines for something fun soon — keep your (heart) eyes peeled. 😍

So, let’s hear it…

Local volunteer opportunities for MLK Day

NOOGAtoday | MLK Day

Each year, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is observed as a federal holiday on the third Monday of January — Jan. 16 this year. The theme for this year is “Cultivating a Beloved Community Mindset to Transform Unjust Systems,” according to The King Centera nonprofit founded by MLK’s wife, Coretta Scott King, to continue Dr. King’s legacy.

If you have time to dedicate to our community, here are three local volunteer opportunities:
  • City of Chattanooga MLK Day of Service opportunities | Complete this form to be connected with an organization or individual leading a service project, including litter pickups, cemetery cleanings, school repaintings, trail clean-ups, and more.
  • Urban League of Greater Chattanooga | Volunteer with the Urban League to support its mission of enabling African-Americans, along with other minorities and disadvantaged individuals, to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power, and civil rights.
  • Chatt Foundation (formerly Chattanooga Community Kitchen) | The Chatt Foundation’s greatest volunteer needs are in food service, but there are various other opportunities.
Do you know of an upcoming MLK Day of Service volunteer opportunity? Let us know.
