The Chattanooga Choo Choo will undergo revitalization efforts overseen by Northpond Partners. The project includes a $1 million renovation of the common area + working with Preserve Chattanooga to retain the Terminal Dome Building. Stay tuned for a full look in a future newsletter. (The Pulse)

Thanks to a $32.3 million grant from the US Department of Energy, EPB will be able to strengthen its local power services + create new job opportunities. EPB will match the funding “to add energy storage, transition overhead power line to underground service, and replace aging power poles.”

Remember River City Co.'s artist call for banners downtown? The company is now moving on to refreshing the Riverfront District + qualifications are now open. Local artists can apply through Wednesday, Nov. 15. Learn more.

The City of Lakesite has appointed five residents to serve on its newly revised Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. The board will “maintain existing park facilities and to find ways to create new facilities per the Parks and Recreation survey which the city conducted earlier in 2023.” (Chattanoogan.com)
Community
Applications are now open for Common House’s Common Ground membership program. The initiative allows emerging leaders + creators the opportunity to network, lead discussions, and enjoy a free membership for one year. Candidates must be 21+ and apply by Friday, Nov 17.
Learn
The Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will host an educational “Fire Shaped This Land” presentation on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 2 p.m. at the Gateway Site (10 Hamm Rd.). Attendees will learn more about “how Native Americans used fire as a tool to shape the land.”
Plan Ahead
Tickets are on sale for Outshine Yoga and Clover Occasions’ “Come & Go: Heal and Flow” Winter Retreat. The two-day event on Saturday, Dec. 2-Sunday, Dec. 3 will feature a “variety of healing and deep self-care workshops, yoga classes, embodiment experiences, and divination practices.”
