We may not get a white Christmas here in the Scenic City, but if one thing’s for sure, it’s going to be a bright one. Neighborhoods, local businesses, and parks alike are bringing extravagant displays of holiday lights to Chattanooga.
Whether you want to walk through the lights or look at them from the comfort of your vehicle, here are 10 spots in the area to see holiday lights.
Take a stroll
Asian Lantern Festival, Chattanooga Zoo, 301 N. Holtzclaw Ave.
See 30+ illuminated lanterns and interactive displays as you journey throughout the zoo.
Enchanted Garden of Lights, Rock City, 1400 Patten Rd., Lookout Mountain, GA
Walk through Rock City Garden’s winter wonderland featuring over one million LED lights. Note: Tickets are only sold online.
Festive Forest, Miller Park, 928 Market St.
See 50 lighted trees decorated by local businesses and organizations. Pro tip: Head across the street to check out EPB’s holiday window displays.

Go for a ride

Take a drive through Soddy-Daisy + tune into an FM radio station for music timed to the light show.
Scenic City Lights, 4095 Brock Rd.
This drive-up show features thousands of LED lights + has a given radio station for an immersive holiday experience. Pro tip: Check the Facebook page out before going to a show in case of cancellations for inclement weather.
Christmas Lights Tours, Nooga Shuttles
Take a tour on a 14-passenger executive shuttle to visit decorated homes throughout Chattanooga.

Morning Pointe Senior Living in nearby Ooltewah has announced a $15 million project to construct a new memory care facility. The Lantern, a 45,000-sqft community, will include 60 apartment units and is slated to open in 2025. (Chattanooga Times Free Press)

Chattanooga 2.0 recently launched a pilot for its Family Reads program at Soddy-Daisy Elementary. In hopes of increasing literacy and access to books at home, 550 books were given to the school. Stay tuned for more details on the program in a future newsletter.

CARTA will be accepting donations for the Share Your Christmas food drive on Friday, Dec. 8. Passengers on any bus or Care-A-Van can bring nonperishable food items and canned goods all day + will receive a free one-way bus ride. (Chattanoogan.com)

The Venue Chattanooga will soon expand its offerings with a sister venue — The Emerson. Located 16 minutes from downtown, this new property will feature a “chic space with gold chandeliers, moody walls, and a large outdoor space for ceremonies.” Booking is now open for 2024.
Pets
The Humane Educational Society will host its Pup Crawl on Saturday, Dec. 9. From 3 to 8 p.m., you and your furry friend can hop around to 10+ local spots downtown and receive a drink. Bonus: Tacky holiday attire is not required but encouraged (on humans + canines alike).
Sports
Registration is now open for the Middle Valley Youth Association’s spring baseball season. Kiddos ages 5-16 will have a chance to play on an affiliate team for Braves County Baseball in a community-focused environment. Sign up.
