Welcome Valley Village

Welcome Valley Village is nestled in Benton, TN along the Ocoee River. This riverside retreat offers cabin rentals and wagon glamping — yes, you heard us right.

Three Conestoga glamping wagons are on the property that look like they came right off of the Oregon Trail. Each of the wagons has three beds and can sleep up to four guests. You’ll also have access to a private bathroom with a shower + shared access to a washer and dryer.

Additionally, there are six cabins spread out on the property. They range in size with the largest cabin (Chilhowee) sleeping up to 10 guests. Everyone on the property has access to the riverside amenities, including a large pavilion with tables.

EPA’s award is a transformational investment in a longstanding priority for South Chattanooga’s isolated neighborhoods to connect to the city’s renaissance of economic opportunity and public space investment.” — Tennessee State Director of Trust for Public Land Noel Durant. | Photo by Doug Strickland courtesy of TPL
The US Environmental Protection Agency recently awarded the Tennessee office of Trust for Public Land + the City of Chattanooga nearly $20 million in funding through the Inflation Reduction Act. The funds will be used to develop a 2.6-mile urban trail system in South Chattanooga.

Called the Alton Park Connector, this project will aim to:
  • Expand the area’s green space + tree canopy
  • Create a new option for outdoor recreation
  • Improve stormwater + floodplain management (using nature-based solutions)
  • Transform + reconnect disadvantaged communities to the rest of Chattanooga
The Alton Park Connector will extend from the Riverwalk to Clifton Hills Elementary + is projected to benefit more than 1,800 residents who live within a half-mile of the trail.

Keep up with the Trust for Public Land through its website as work begins on the connector trail — you can also see other projects across the state.
