A residential project in Hixson has won approval by the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission. If approved by City Council, 325 single-family homes + 105 townhouses could be built off of Highway 153 — resulting in one of the largest development projects in the area. We know the question on your mind, Chattanoogans — when’s it going to get cool? Thanks to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center, we know what temperatures and precipitation trends to expectin our city for September, October, and November.
While exact weather conditions typically can’t be predicted more than a week in advance, here’s a seasonal outlook to help you prepare for what fall will bring.

Typically in Chattanooga, September’s temperatures fluctuate between an average high of 81.9° + an average low of 61.2° during the nights — making temperatures ideal for outdoor activities. Not a fan of the rain?Good news. Historically, September is the month with the least amount of rainfall in the Scenic City.
