Walker County officials recently broke ground on Adventure Acres, an eight-acre tract of land that will be turned into a recreational space for all. This park is projected to open by Memorial Day in the coming year — see what type of adventures await.

Awards

The nominees for the 2025 Black Excellence Chattanooga Awards have been announced. The main event is slated for February — vote now through Saturday, Nov. 30 for your favorite local business owners, entrepreneurs, and professionals to see who will take home the BEC.

Dr. Robert Dooley, a longtime leader and alumnus of UTC, has been appointed as interim chancellor. Dooley will begin his role on Wednesday, Jan. 1 + the university hopes to have a search firm selected by the end of the year, with final interviews conducted in the spring. If you couldn’t tell, we’re getting beary excited for the holiday season + we aren’t the only ones. Hits 96 is back with its annual Teddy Bear Bonanza.

Now through Monday, Dec. 2, you can donate brand-new teddy bears to be gifted to the Children’s Hospital at Erlanger + the Salvation Army of Chattanooga. Donations can be brought to:
