We recently asked our readers what street in Chattanooga is their favorite. Now, we’re breaking down some of the top contenders with a guide for the daytime patrons + the bustling nightlife.

Note: We’re only highlighting some businesses for a walkable adventure, but each street has much more to offer.

Main Street
This lively Southside street covers well over three miles and features a variety of local businesses — so much so that it is home to the annual MAINx24 event.

Spend the day:

  • Grabbing a coffee | Mean Mug Coffeehouse, Velo Coffee Roasters + Sleepyhead Coffee
  • Getting lunch | Niedlov’s Bakery & Cafe + Conga Latin Food
  • Shopping | Yellow Racket Records, The Backyard Nursery, Poor Taste, POMKT, Bleu Fox Cheese Shop + Cigar Man Chatt

And then at night:

  • Having dinner | Hello Monty, Feed Table and Tavern, Main Street Meats, Boo-Coes Sports Bar & Grill + Southside Pizza

Frazier Avenue
Home to the NorthShore side of town, this block is full of local businesses — just look at the NorthShore Merchants Collective.

Spend the day:

  • Grabbing a refreshing treat | Stone Cup Cafe, Kung Fu Tea Chattanooga + Clumpies Ice Cream Co.
  • Getting lunch | Basecamp Bar and Restaurant, Bento Ya + Taconooga
  • Shopping | Winder Binder, Collective Clothing, Blue Skies, Locals Only Gifts & Goods, I Go Tokyo, Disco Clothier, Zi Olive on the North Shore + Verre Noir

And then at night:

Rossville Avenue + Boulevard
These streets nearly extend all the way to the Georgia state line — for the purposes of this guide, we’re highlighting spots that start at Rossville Avenue + those between Doyle and East 38th Streets for the best walkable areas.

Spend the day:

  • Getting lunch | Zarzour’s Cafe, Taqueria La Delicia + Chubby’s Bar-B-Q
  • Shopping | Reflections Gallery + Ladies of Charity Thrift Store
