Weather
Stay safe out there. The National Weather Service is expecting a heat index over 100 degrees today. Make sure to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. If you must be outside, make sure to cool off in one of Chattanooga’s pools or swimming holes. (Chattanoogan)
Sports
East Ridge is launching a $3 million project to install artificial turf on several fields at Camp Jordan. The city hopes the improved drainage of artificial turf will reduce weather-related game cancellations. Installation will take three to four months to complete. (Chattanoogan)
Fun Fact

Chattanooga Taco Week makes dinner plans easy. | Photo by Nooga Nightlife
Chattanooga Taco Week is underway, which means you could be eating $4 tacos all week long.
Last week, we asked which Chattanooga restaurant has the best tacos. It turns out — you’re all very passionate about the dish. About 20 different restaurants were mentioned in your responses. Taco Mamacita got the most love, with Agave & Rye and Bollywood Tacos close behind. If one of those is your favorite, you’re in luck — all three are participating in Chattanooga Taco Week.
It’s still July, but let’s be honest — some of you are already making your holiday shopping lists. So here’s something to note: Chattanooga’s indoor Holiday Market won’t actually be in Chattanooga this year. Instead, it’ll be at the Knoxville World’s Fair Expo Hall Dec. 6-7 and Dec. 13-14. But don’t despair — Chattanooga Market will still host its own smaller holiday market at the First Horizon Pavilion Nov. 22-23.
