City Editor Kristen here. 👋 I’ll be the first to admit that during the pandemic, my fitness routine came to a screeching halt. Even though things are getting back to a sense of normalcy, I personally have struggled with figuring out how to implement regular workouts back into my schedule.

Enter: SPENGA Chattanooga. Once you sign up for your first session at SPENGA — your first one is free, may I add the only thing you need to do is show up.

SPENGA’s instructors take care of the rest by curating a 60-minute workout focusing on three pillars of fitness: cardio, strength, and flexibility. Every workout is different and adjusted according to where you are at in your fitness journey, meaning it’s completely plateau-proof and avoids burnout.

What we tried (with pricing):

I got to try SPENGA’s 60-minute workout for myself, which includes 20 minutes of spin, strength exercises, and yogaand y’all… get ready to sweat it out.

Pricing for month to month memberships are as follows:

  • Unlimited sessions per month: $149
  • Eight sessions per month: $109
  • Four sessions per month: $69

Class packs are also available and good for 12 months after purchase. Noogans can choose from 10 Sessions ($225), 20 Sessions ($400), or 30 Sessions ($525).

What not to miss:

Arrive to your first workout 30 minutes early so your instructor can help gather data before your workout. Based on your current fitness level (and if you’re at a beginner level like myself, there’s absolutely no judgment), instructors will determine your “sweet spot” so you can reach your perfect power combination.

After your workout, your instructor will review a progress report from the data collected during your spin workout. This helps you see your performance data + set goals for your next class.

What we’re still talking about:

I’ll admit I was a teensy bit nervous going into this class. After all, I hadn’t been to a workout class in over two years, but the positive energy of the instructors + participants was contagious.

Even though I sweated more than I probably ever had in my lifetime, I left feeling energized + excited to take the next class.

Following your spin + strength portion, the workout continues in yoga where the focus shifts to strength, balance, deep stretching, and flexibility — plus it prevents post-workout soreness. | Photo by the NOOGAtoday team
