Eleven Chattanooga companies made the annual list of Inc. Magazine’s 5,000 fastest-growing, privately held companies.

This year’s list dropped Wednesday + trucking logistics companies dominated locally. They don’t call this area Freight Alley for nothing.

We even have a locally based media + analytics company, called Freightwaves, which is solely dedicated to the trucking logistics industry. Last year, there were 13 Chattanooga companies on the list. In 2018, Chattanooga boasted nine companies on the list — up from five in 2017.

  • We didn’t have any companies make the cut, but the top 500 companies on the list will be featured in the September issue of Inc., which is available on newsstands now.
  • The 2020 Inc. 5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2016 and 2019.
  • To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2016.
  • The minimum revenue required for 2016 is $100,000; the minimum for 2019 is $2 million.
  • Companies apply to be on the list.
