Sip on cocktails crafted by Rosecomb Bar while discussing the book of the month with the folks at The Book & Cover.

Whether you’re an avid reader, or just looking for friends to talk about the books on your summer reading list, you’ll want to bookmark this. We’ve put together a list of a few local book clubs to check out.

The Book & Cover Book Club | 1310 Hanover St. | 7 p.m. | Regardless of your favorite genre, this bookstore probably has a club for you — including a Cocktail Book Club in partnership with The Rosecomb. Check out these quick facts before signing up.

Walnut Book Club | Winder Binder, 40 Frazier Ave. | 6:30 p.m. | This book club meets on the first Thursday of every month to discuss books chosen by the hosts. Find out how to participate and also look into the relaxed and casual sister club, Tattered Binding Book Club.
Note: These meetings are B.Y.O.C. (bring your own chair).

Eastgate Readers Chatt | Eastgate Library, 5705 Marlin Rd. | 2-4:30 p.m. | Check out books picked by the library’s staff and discuss what you’ve read at this group that meets once a month on a Saturday afternoon.

Book Chatt Connection | Downtown Library, 1001 Broad St. | 10:30-11:30 a.m. | Enjoy a more relaxed book club every second + fourth Wednesday of the month. These meetings discuss broader book-related topics instead of picking a specific title to read. There’s also a monthly, evening group at the Eastgate Library.

Rêve Book Club | Rêve Coffee & Books, 1948 Northpoint Blvd., Ste. 144, Hixson | Times vary | Follow this family-owned shop on social media to find updates on its book clubs, including one for kids. It also offers chances to participate in the club’s book selection.

SoLit Book Club | Various locations + times | You can join this literary arts hub for its ongoing Page-Turners on the Patio silent book club + its poetry book club series.

Chattanooga Boozy Bookworms | Various locations + times | This monthly book club is open to women “from all backgrounds” who enjoy discussing books, and sometimes other topics, over a cocktail. Note: Joining is free, but there’s an event fee ($3 per event) to offset the cost of using the Meetup platform.

Silent Book Club | Avondale Library, 1305 Dodson Ave. | 6:30-7:30 p.m. | Bring a book and meet on the last Friday of the month. You’ll have time to read without noise, but the meeting will shift to reflective conversation.

Silent Book Club | Eastgate Library, 5705 Marlin Rd. | 12-1 p.m. | Carve out some time on the third Friday afternoon each month for some quiet reading and the opportunity to share book suggestions. The library also offers a “Sort of Silent Book Club” for people ages 12-18.

Chattanooga Newcomers Club | Join for details | 10 a.m. | Members meet on the first Wednesday of each month to talk about fiction + non-fiction books in leader-led discussions.
