Do people still do this? And, if so, where do we need to be doing it in the Chattanooga area?

We aren’t the only ones wondering.

“We used to drive the kids around every winter to look at some awesome houses... but since we’ve moved here, we haven’t been able to due to lack of info:(. I miss it.” — Rebecca B.

Apparently, there are houses around here that have their own radio stations, like this one at 336 Century Drive in nearby Rossville, Georgia.

This tradition can be an inexpensive, fun way to experience the holidays and quality time with the family or friends.

We asked area residents the best places to see amazing lights and compiled a list of several suggestions.

🌟 “There is a house in Cleveland TN next to Peerless [Road] Church that does a huge display and it’s connected to their own radio station. Totally free!” — @annasiler

🌟 “I like to go up to cravens house and look down on the city & all the lights.” — @madelinepage

🌟 “There is a house in Soddy. 11632 Jenkins Road. It is set to their own radio station and free! They also have a Facebook page.” — @Jen6490

🌟 “Brew Lights at the Chattanooga Zoo!” — @a_sawyer22

🌟 “Not original: Rock City still makes me giddy as a 31 year old, the windows at EPB are magical.” — @jlnerdy

🌟 “Jason Drive, off of Foutain Ave in East Ridge. It’s a whole little neighborhood that does an amazing light display. Also, the King family in Cleveland. The address is 2466 Twin Oaks Dr SE, Cleveland, Tennessee 37323.” — Jessica C.

🌟 “Lafayette Ga has a little town square next to the fire station and its great for little kids or a romantic night out. Small but peaceful.” — Michelle S.

Pro-tip: If you’d rather walk, consider taking a stroll downtown. Between EPB’s holiday window display, the snowflakes that line the streets and the pedestrian bridge, The Block’s lighted storefront, The Tennessee Aquarium’s illumination and decorations on the riverfront and on some downtown condos and businesses — there’s plenty of sparkle to satisfy. And if you go on the right night, there’s plenty of hustle and bustle. If you go on a slow night, more parking for you.
