ICYMI, Chattanooga Convention & Visitors Bureau is now Chattanooga Tourism Co. But who are they, and what do they do? 🤔
It’s simple, really: They promote + develop visitor experiences for our community’s economic + social prosperity. These tourism-related economic opportunities include attractions (think: Ruby Falls and the Tennessee Aquarium), restaurants, hotels , arts + culture, sports , the outdoors and more.
But they not only connect visitors to Chattanooga experiences – they also inspire locals to explore their own town .
Here’s a by-the-numbers look at the economic impact of this work:
- $1.1 billion: How much visitors spent in Hamilton County in 2019 alone (yes, that’s billion with a b)
- 30,000: How many jobs were supported by tourism in Hamilton County pre-pandemic
- 20,000: Tourism-supported jobs as of April
- 29,300: Tourism-supported jobs as of September 📈
Chattanooga’s outdoor activities continue to make it a safe option for visitors within driving distance. Heading into the holidays, Chattanooga Tourism Co.’s message is safety first, urging adherence to mask-wearing + CDC guidelines while offering visitors an unforgettable experience.
What’s next? Mark your calendars for this year’s Holiday Trail of Lights , happening through Jan. 17 – with 14 unique experiences, millions of twinkling lights and plenty of cheer for everyone in the family. 🎄
