Chattanooga Parking Authority introducing parking credit pilot program

The three-month initiative will allow locals to receive up to $24 in parking credits as long as they have a valid city sticker.

A multilevel parking garage entrance and exit are shown on a city street. Signs indicate "Exit Only" on the left and "Entrance Clearance 8'2''" on the right, with a blue "Spaces Available" sign above. The building exterior features concrete and red brick, with a nearby storefront on the right.

Parking in downtown Chattanooga may soon become easier and less costly. Chattanooga Parking Authority + the City of Chattanooga are launching a three-month parking credit pilot program that will offer parking benefits valued up to $24.

Locals can apply for the program starting Friday, July 11 at 9 a.m. through Friday, July 25 at 6 p.m. It’s open to all residents who hold a valid city sticker.

Credit usage will begin Friday, Aug. 1 and last through the end of October. Once enrolled, participants will be able to choose one of four parking options at downtown lots and garages. Codes to redeem the credits will be sent through email.

The Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority hopes this initiative will help remove barriers to access downtown spaces. The program aims to enrich the area’s economy by encouraging more foot traffic to restaurants, stores, and businesses.
