We here at NOOGAtoday are all about body positivity + being comfortable in the skin you’re in. But we also recognize this is a time of year when many of us want to put some practices in place to be healthier. And for some, that may mean losing weight.

Chattanooga was ranked the 16th “fattest” city in the U.S. in 2019 via a recent study by WalletHub. Ouch. We were also ranked third for percentage of physically inactive adults + fifth for percentage of adults with high blood pressure.

You could say this is an improvement, as in 2017 our city was ranked the #6 fattest city in the U.S. We were also:

  • #2 for percentage of obese teenagers – 18.6%
  • #4 for projected obesity rate in 2030 – 63.4%
  • #4 in lack of access to healthy foods – 15.7%
  • #6 for percentage of diabetic adults – 12.7%

Many who struggle with obesity have tried numerous diets + exercise regimens without seeing their desired results. If you’re a member of this club, you may be interested in some outside help. Enter: Erlanger Health System.
