The largest folk + beer festival in the world might have originated in Germany, but here’s how you can celebrate locally around the Scenic City.

While this week marks the end of Oktoberfest in its traditional celebrations, the Scenic City is keeping the brats + beers going at these local festivals. So, grab your stein and get ready for a Muni-que experience.

Village VW of Chattanooga, 6001 International Dr.

Happening Friday, Oct. 6, this free event hosted by the folks at Volkswagen will have live music, food, and beverages from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Mountain Arts Community Center, 809 Kentucky Ave., Signal Mountain

Head out to Signal Mountain on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. to shop arts and the farmers market while enjoying authentic German tunes + food.

Rock City, 1400 Patten Rd., Lookout Mountain

Happening every Saturday and Sunday through October 29, this event will celebrate Rock City’s German heritage, honoring founder Frieda Utermoehlen Carter with live music from regional German bands, specialty beer, and authentic bites. Tickets start at $19.95.

Chattanooga Market, 1826 Reggie White Blvd.

On Saturday, Oct. 14 and Sunday, Oct. 15, don your best German-inspired outfit (you might be crowned Mr. & Ms. Chattanooga Oktoberfest). Sip on local + seasonal brews and eat authentic foods during this free-entry family event.

Living Hope Luthernan Church, 2268 Encompass Dr.

Head out to this church’s free event on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. + enjoy a day full of yard games, a football watch party, bounce houses, and a free lunch.
