New Year’s resolutions from NOOGAtoday readers

Here’s what they’re hoping to accomplish in 2026.

Sunset behind a bridge over calm water, casting golden reflections. Darkened skyline and clouds create a serene and picturesque atmosphere.

Our resolution is to never stop appreciating this view.

As the sun sets on 2025, many of us are looking ahead — setting new goals, intentions, and habits for 2026. We asked NOOGAtoday readers about their New Year’s resolutions, and this is what they shared:

They want to write, organize, and stay open…

  • “Practice writing daily.” -Barb F.
  • “Try to write a book. Be more organized/simplify my space. Consider new career options & possibilities.” -Kelley K.

Maybe Kelley will be the next person to show up on our local authors guide.

They want to explore…

  • “Enjoy downtown more.” -Debbie B.

And improve Chattanooga…

  • “To be a better public servant.” -Joseph W.
  • “... My goal for 2026 is to shop at thrift stores and Facebook Marketplace for all of my non-consumable purchases.” -Nicole S.

If you’d also like to thrift more often, check out our guide to local consignment, thrift, and vintage stores.

And themselves…

  • “Get better physical mobility.” -Sue B.

They want to keep their thumbs green and their minds open…

  • “To grow more flowers in my garden and try one new exotic fruit a week.” -Erika S.
  • “To get outside and conquer the invasive plants in my yard, then actually keep my garden weeded.” -Capri L.

Chattanooga’s flower shops and plant nurseries are a great place to start.

And some of them just want to keep it real.

  • “Not to make one because I won’t follow through.” -Sharon M.

Still working on your resolution? We love reading them, so keep sending them our way.
