You’ve heard of “The Elf on the Shelf,” but let us introduce you to “Clark in a Park” — the Chattanooga Parks and Outdoors Department’s newest holiday fun.

For the entire month of December, folks can find out what Clark Griswold from the “National Lampoon’s Vacation” series is getting up to in our parks. All you have to do is check for daily posts from the department’s Instagram + Facebook page.

Clark has already been spotted planting trees at Historic Church Street Park, taking in the city through the eyes of the MAINx24 parade + laying in a bird bath.

Stay tuned for where Clark will be the rest of this week — but we’ll leave you with a few clues:

  • Clark will be on a mission to find the heritage of real tomato ketchup.
  • Kiddos will be patten Clark down on the playground.
