These sales bring all the folks to the yard. The 127 Yard Sale — which happens to be the world’s longest yard sale — will be passing through the Scenic City Thursday, Aug. 7 through Sunday, Aug. 10.

Stretching 690 miles and covering six states from Alabama to Michigan, this is not your average neighborhood yard sale. So we’ve made a guide to help you experience everything you wish to — see also the “Yardsalers 101" guide.

From one yard saler to another

Editor Haley checking in. As a seasoned shopper of the 127 Yard Sale, here are some highlights of my experiences.

  • Mostly cash sales — in the event a stop doesn’t have an ATM as noted, check out the best ATMs in the Signal Mountain area (I recommend Thomas Service station on Taft Highway).
  • Bargains are on the table — last year, I scored a $1 vintage painting and shirts, but I’m still wishing I haggled for an antique radio that worked.
  • Sustenance is key for taking on the weekend — search through our City Guides for all the ins + outs of the Greater Chattanooga area for locals and visitors alike.
  • Plan your travels with this route map covering the full trail.
