With the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments just around the corner, we’re joining the fun of bracket competitions with a face-off of our own with our NOOGAtoday pizza bracket.
Nominations
But first, we need your help nominating the spots you think should be in the bracket.
Using the nomination form, submit the local spot that has your favorite slice of pie, and we’ll use your nominations to create a bracket and battle it out in our newsletter and on socials.
Need help brainstorming? Check out our pizza spots guide to get started.
Round 1
Last year, you helped us name the best local brewery: Hutton & Smith Brewing Co. This year, we asked you to share your favorite pizza joint in Chattanooga. Now — thanks to you and the help of a random generator — we have the official lineup for our bracket.
Who’s in the running
Going head-to-head in the first round are:
- Pizzeria Cortile vs. Chattanooga Pizza Co. | Pizzeria Cortile specializes in Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizza while Chattanooga Pizza Co. was originally called Home Slice Pizza of Chattanooga.
- Southside Pizza vs. Community Pie | Southside Pizza is known for its large NY-style slices + Community Pie dishes out pizza and gelato downtown and Hamilton Place.
- Lupi’s Pizza Pies vs. Pizza Bros | Lupi’s is a staple for the veggie folks while Pizza Bros offers specialty slices and wing deals.
- Mr. T’s Pizza & Ice Cream vs. Fiamma Pizza Co. | You might recognize Mr. T’s by its giant ice cream cone storefront or Fiamma for its Sicilian-style pizza.
Honorable mentions: Niedlov’s Bakery & Cafe (stay tuned for the return of the infamous pizza nights) + say hi our neighbors in nearby Ooltewah, Georgi’s Pizzeria.
How it works
Beginning today, we will host several voting rounds within our newsletters and social channels to determine Chattanooga’s best pizza. Who moves on is up to you. Vote for your favorites, and the pizza shop with more votes moves on. Simple as that. We’ll go until we have a champion, which will be announced in our Monday, March 25 newsletter. You will be able to vote once per round.
How to participate
Vote for the pizza you’d like to see advance to round two using this poll. You can vote for all four spots or as little as one. Once we count all the votes, we’ll share an updated bracket and new poll in an upcoming newsletter.
Round 2
Welcome back to our NOOGAtoday pizza bracket, where we’re asking you to determine the best pizza shop in Chattanooga.
After our initial round of votes, we’re down to four “teams” left:

- Lupi’s Pizza Pies vs. Fiamma Pizza Co. | Lupi’s is a staple for the veggie folks while Fiamma Pizza Co. is known for its Sicilian-style pizza.
Final round
Welcome back to our NOOGAtoday pizza bracket, where we’re asking you to determine the best pizza shop in Chattanooga.
After our second round of votes, we’re down to two “teams” left:
- Pizzeria Cortile vs. Lupi’s Pizza Pies | Pizzeria Cortile started out as a food truck before opening up in Red Bank to specialize in Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizza while Lupi’s has been dishing out pizza since 1996, becoming a staple for the veggie community.

Winner’s circle
And the bracket winner is… Pizzeria Cortile, voted the best pizza shop in Chattanooga by our readers and social media followers in our NOOGAtoday pizza bracket. Head to this Red Bank spot (or their food truck at The Book & Cover on Fridays + Saturdays) for a specialty slice of Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizza. We hear they just added new pies to the menu.
We want to extend a major “thank you” to all of you for participating in our bracket challenge over the past few weeks. We’ve had a blast seeing how the votes shook out, and we hope you did too. Looking for more pizza shops around town? Check out our guide.
