River City Co. has announced what the next international art installation will be for next year’s Rock the Riverfront. Enjoy this sneak peek before you dive into the details.

Enter: “Loop” by EKUMEN. This interactive artwork features 12 giant zoetropes (pre-film animation devices) that will play short flipbook-style movies inspired by Quebec literature + a music box will play an accompaniment. Bonus: The speed of the pictures, frequencies of light, and tempos of music are all controlled by how fast you move the bar.

Rock the Riverfront will return to the Chattanooga Green (140 Riverfront Pkwy.) on March 14 + will run through April 14. The month-long series is free and open to the community from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and will feature different vendors, live music, and more during the weekends.

Note: The installation is awaiting the last rounds of approval from the Public Art Commission on Oct. 19.
