Following the lead of bigger cities like Miami, NYC, and Vegas, downtown Chattanooga will soon be home to a selfie museum.
What is a selfie museum, and why do people over 15 care about it? As its name suggests, selfie museums have various rooms, corners, stations, or backdrops (like a museum’s “exhibits”) that are set for unique, visually interesting photos.
Many are pop-ups that travel to bigger cities — like the Museum of Ice Cream — and others are permanent attractions — like the Miami Selfie Museum.
Photo Bomb founder Mikesha Lacy had the idea to open a selfie museum ~2 years ago. As business owner of Luxe Spa, she noticed that customers loved taking photos in front of the salon’s aesthetic backdrops. After doing research + realizing that selfie museums are all the rage, she decided to open 1 of her own in the heart of downtown Chattanooga.
