Yesterday, officials broke ground on a new Food City location that will open in the late summer of 2023 at 1375 Broad St.

Food City is working with the City of Chattanooga + River City Company to develop the over 53,000-sqft retail space. The location will include an in-store bakery and deli that will offer a wide array of food for patrons to enjoy in the food court featuring over 115 seats.

The plans for the new store are pretty big. Here are some other highlights:

  • Starbucks Café on site
  • GoCart curbside pick-up + home delivery service
  • Food City Pharmacy
  • Award-winning, energy-saving concepts (like energy-efficient glass cooler doors, parking lights, and more)

But that’s not all. The Food City is the anchor of a mixed-use project that will also consist of 16,000-sqft of two-level retail + office spaces along Broad Street and six two-story townhouses along W. 13th Street.
