14 Halloween events to attend in Chattanooga

From monster bashes and costume contests to themed bar takeovers — Chattanooga has no shortage of ways to celebrate Halloween.

We’re gearing up for Halloween time in the Scenic City, so get ready to trick-or-treat yourself at these 14 local events.

🍬 Family-friendly outings

Boo in the Zoo
Head to the Chattanooga Zoo on select nights for a celebration featuring candy, not-so-scary decorations, costume shows, a bounce house, and a scavenger hunt. Ticket must be purchased online.

Troops & Treats
Join the National Medal of Honor Heritage Center on Friday, Oct. 25 from 4 to 7 p.m. for a free event featuring trick or treating, crafts and activities, a puppet show, and more — costumes are encouraged.

“Spooky Skate”
Try out new moves with Outdoor Chattanooga + Dazey Skate Co. on Friday, Oct. 25 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Chatt Town Skate Park for skating, food trucks, and costume contests. Free skate rentals will be provided for the first 25 people.

Odd Hallows Eve
Head to Oddstory Brewing Co. for three days of ghoulish fun. The annual Halloween Bash returns with a costume contest and live music on Friday, Oct. 25, the pet costume contest will be on Saturday, Oct. 26 + check out a vendors market on Sunday, Oct. 27. All events are free entry and for all ages.

SnapFest: Fright Night
Join local business Snapdragon Hemp on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Walnut Street Bridge + Coolidge Park for live music, face painting, a haunted maze, a costume contest, a zombie walk on the bridge, and a vendor market. Entry is free.

Haunted Market
Bring the family to the Chattanooga Market on Sunday, Oct. 27 for trick or treating + a costume parade at 1:30 p.m. for the kiddos and adults.

    🔮 Adult bashes

    Harry Potter Pop-Up
    Head to Unknown Caller Bar now through Sunday, Nov. 3 to enter into the magical world of “Harry Potter.” Check out the decorations, a themed cocktail and mocktail menu + puzzles and games. Entry to the pop-up is free, no tickets are required. Pro tip: Bring a group and order the “Espresso Patronum” tower.

    Frights & Pints
    This after-hours event at the Chattanooga Zoo is on Thursday, Oct. 24 where you can enjoy your favorite beer + wine while you explore the zoo and hit the dance floor. Tickets start at $35.

    Drink & Discover: CarnEvil
    The Creative Discovery Museum will turn into a scary carnival on Friday, Oct. 25. You can play games, enjoy food and drinks, see live performances by the Chattanooga Fire Cabaret, and get a tarot card reading. Tickets start at $35.

    All Hallows Eve
    Common House will open its doors to non-members on Friday, Oct. 25 for tarot readings, music spun by a DJ, drink specials, snacks, a costume contest, and scary movies on the terrace. Non-member tickets are $20.

    Bitter Halloween Block Party
    They say there’s a haunting on Houston Street— head to a block party outside The Bitter Alibi on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 5 p.m. for music by Shoey. There’s a $10 cover beginning at 7 p.m.

    Gravedigger’s Ball
    Local radio station Hits 96 will host its annual event on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Barrelhouse Ballroom. Get ready to dance the night away + make sure to come in your best costumes for a chance to win prizes. Tickets start at $15.

    Retro Halloween Party
    Get ready to travel back in time at Reagan’s on Saturday, Oct. 26 for a retro-themed party, cocktails, and costume party. Festivities start at 7 p.m. + the first 50 guests will receive free merch. Tickets start at $20.

    Devils Night
    The Boneyard will host its Halloween party on Thursday, Oct. 31, featuring live bands and a costume party. Follow the Instagram page for the lineup announcement.
