The season for spooks is finally here 🎃 and Chattanooga has more than a few places to get your adrenaline fix. 👻

From haunted barns to dreadful hollows, the region’s spooky attractions are an October tradition for fans of jump scares and nightmare-inducing experiences.

Dread Hollow (Ruby Falls) | Sept. 28 to Oct. 31 | Thursdays, Sundays & Halloween: 7 to 10 p.m., Fridays & Saturdays: 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. | 321 Browns Ferry Road | $20 | This haunted tour of the 20,000 square foot town of Dread Hollow takes daring explorers through the ghostly Belle Royale Hotel, the blood-soaked Murder Row farms and the cursed Cirque de Fatale.

The Haunted Barn | Oct. 5 to Nov. 3 | Fridays & Saturdays: 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. | 5017 McDonald Rd., McDonald, TN 37353 | $20 | The 24th annual Haunted Barn takes willing participants on a 16-room self-guided tour that finishes with a completely blacked-out maze. Guests can also enjoy a live DJ, a concession stand, and a bonfire. 🧛‍

The Haunted Hilltop | Sept. 28 to Oct. 31 | Fridays & Saturdays: 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. | 8245 Hwy 58, Harrison, TN 37341 | $20 for both the haunted house and haunted hayride, $15 for just one experience | This experience covers over 100,000 square feet and includes a newly-constructed dark maze, a haunted hayride through the woods, a cemetery walk, and a scary movie.

The Ringgold Haunted Depot | Oct. 12 - Oct. 27 | Fridays & Saturdays: 7 to 11 p.m. | 155 Depot St., Ringgold, GA | $10 | This Halloween scare is as classic as they come: live entertainment, food + a SPOOKY haunted house. Guests can also enjoy a hayride + bonfire.

Acres of Darkness | Oct. 5 - Oct. 27 | Fridays & Saturdays: 7:30 to 11 p.m. | Audubon Acres, 900 N. Sanctuary Rd. | $15 | The Toyland of Terror is filled with long-lost toys whose loneliness gave way to a deep-seated anger and you may be their next target. There is a separate trail for families and a family-friendly area with hot cocoa, s’mores, and a bonfire. All proceeds go to the Chattanooga Audubon Society.

Lake WinnepeSPOOKah | Weekends in October and Thursday, Oct. 25 | Weekends: 6 to 11 p.m., Oct. 25: 5 to 10 p.m. | 1730 Lakeview Dr., Ringgold, GA | $26 | The Lake Winnepesaukah amusement park is jumping in on the Halloween fun with costumed characters, parades every hour, and “spooky surprises” for after-dark visitors.
