Healthy, prepared food option is coming to The Edney

Authored By Savannah Bennett

Naked Foods is opening a Chattanooga location this fall on the first floor of the Edney Innovation Center.

“Naked Foods is a smart solution for busy people in need of quick and healthy prepared meals,” Urban Story Ventures Chief Operating Officer Jill Allen said.

Urban Story Ventures owns and operates the Edney Innovation Center and is a part owner-developer and part property management firm.

Allen is originally from Knoxville where Naked Foods was formed and has been supportive of the concept for years.

“Several prospective tenants showed interest in the space, but we were seeking something specific to serve both the tenants of the Edney and surrounding community,” Allen said.

Naked Foods offers paleo, gluten free, and whole-30 diets. It will also include healthy catering options.

Downtown Chattanooga is short on healthy grab-and-go concepts, Allen said.

“With a bustling workforce and heavy foot traffic during breakfast and lunch hours, there is certainly room for Naked Foods to serve those looking for healthier meal options,” she said.

Naked Foods also offers ways for companies to host working lunches, after-hours events and holiday parties.

They will also work with meeting and event planners to create custom menus.

“I truly believe we, as a culture, can consider making better decisions when it comes to what we put in our bodies,” Allen said. “Our entire team was on board when the idea was introduced, and we think Naked Foods offerings will be a nice addition to the Innovation District.”

Naked Foods will be opening later this fall.

Hours of operation will be 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
